Embodied Earth Day Inspirations
How do we embrace the Earth that embraces us, and how do our Earth metaphors call us to respond? We will sing a lot, including a time for all ages, and consider many ways that human beings have imagined our relationship with Planet Earth. Celebrate and contemplate in community!
Our guest speaker Shams Cohen is a hospice chaplain, graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry, second-generation UU, and applicant for UUFLG’s next minister. Shams is also a published poet, recorded sacred chant practitioner, and a former social justice minister at one of the largest UU congregations (Dallas, TX). Stay for coffee hour, where you can get more personally acquainted with Shams, discuss the service, and share feedback with our ministerial search committee.

Helping Our Natural World
As part of our ongoing program of environmental Sundays, Dashiell Leeds, an environmental advocate for the Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter, will be our speaker. Dashiell focuses on influencing city and county governments to pass environmental policies. In today’s talk, Dashiell will inform us about local environmental efforts such as climate change mitigation, habitat protection, bird-safe design and dark sky policies. We will also learn some basic tools to advocate and influence our local government on these important issues.
