Announcements for the Week of
August 29, 2010
The Great
Books discussion group at
UUFLG, in
their continuing series on the Seven Deadly Sins, will discuss, at
their next
regular meeting, September 13, 2010
at 7:30PM, two short stories on Sloth:
"The House with the Mezzanine" by Anton Checkhov (25 pages)
and "Shiloh" by Bobbie Ann Mason (20 pages).
All of our discussions stand on their own as
they are confined to the current selection that we have all read and do
not
require knowledge of other readings. Everyone's
opinion
is respected -- newcomers and veterans alike. Call
Brent Browning or Erma Browning at 408-353-6340
if you would like to join us."
MULCH
AGAIN like we did last
summer: Saturday, September 11, 10:00 to noon.
The next step in our Sustainable grounds project is more mulching. We
need 10
to 12 volunteers to help spread 5 cubic yards or mulch. Refreshments
will be
provided. Sign up today or contact Connie Springer.
UUFLG
Committee on Visibility

The Almaden Valley Women’s Club annually sponsors an Art &

This year we are pleased to support this group by offering the
wine and
beer glasses for a pre-Festival sale price of $5 per glass. At the Festival, the price is $6.
The glasses will be available for purchase in
the foyer on Sundays, August 22 and September 5 & 12.
Please see Bonnie George if you have
questions.
